Down the Drain

We all have moments when we feel like we are throwing money down the drain for one reason or another. More times than not, that feeling is a product of our rushed lives and quick decision making.

Take that feeling a step further and imagine calling a plumber to fix your clogged kitchen sink, only to find out that a 18K gold and diamond bracelet was the culprit in your malfunctioning disposal. Gasp. Yes, that's what happened to our client Brigit one bright and sunny April afternoon.

So, what do you do with a zippy bag full of diamond links that have been chewed and mangled by your sink's ravenous jaw? The obvious solution would be to yank out the diamonds to use for another project and scrap the metal. Although gold is trading at a fairly high price, Brigit was understandably saddened by the prospect of writing off the whole bracelet. She was hoping she could salvage something and perhaps make a pair of earrings with the pieces... and that's exactly what we did.
